  • 7,5 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 yellow onions , chopped
  • 2 clove(s) garlic , finely chopped
  • 450 g beef (extra lean ground beef)
  • 398 ml tomato sauce (1 can)
  • 30 ml worcestershire sauce
  • 15 ml mustard
  • 5 ml chili powder
  • 5 ml paprika powder
  • 2 ml cumin
  • 2 ml salt
  • 1 ml red pepper flakes
  • To taste, pepper (ground pepper)
  • 4 Italian sausages
  • 4 Italian-style hot dog buns
  • 125 ml mozzarella cheese , grated
  • Baby potato and green bean salad
  • 680 g baby potatoes , quartered
  • 350 g green beans , trimmed and halved
  • 2 green onion(s) , chopped
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 15 ml dijon mustard
  • 15 ml cider vinegar
  • 5 ml salt
  • 1 ml pepper , grounded

  • 4 Italian sausages
  • 4 Italian-style hot dog buns

  • 680 g baby potatoes , quartered
  • 350 g green beans , trimmed and halved
  • 2 green onion(s) , chopped
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 15 ml dijon mustard
  • 15 ml cider vinegar
  • 5 ml salt
  • 1 ml pepper , grounded
prep time
  1. In a pot of boiling water, boil quartered baby potatoes for 7 minutes. Add green beans and cook another 7 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Drain and let cool in an uncovered bowl in the fridge.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet over high heat and fry onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add ground beef and break it up into pieces using a wooden spoon. Cook meat for 5 minutes, or until no longer pinkish.
  3. Reduce heat and add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and spices. Mix well. Let simmer.
  4. Preheat barbecue to medium and oil grill.
  5. Remove potatoes and green beans from fridge and combine with the remaining ingredients for the salad. Mix well and place back in fridge until ready to serve.
  6. Grill Italian sausages covered for about 5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F). Set aside.
  7. Grill hot dog buns for 2 minutes.
  8. Garnish each bun with an Italian sausage, simmered chili sauce, and grated cheese. Serve with baby potato and green bean salad.
