  • 580 ml marinara sauce (1 container)
  • 250 ml cottage cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 340 g blend of grated Italian cheeses , divided
  • 30 ml breadcrumbs
prep time
  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large saucepan of boiling water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. When pasta is cooked, set it aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the ground meat for about 4 minutes or until no longer pink.
  4. Add marinara sauce to meat and mix well. Set aside.
  5. Mix together the cottage cheese, egg, and 125 mL (½ cup) grated cheese in a bowl.
  6. Cover the bottom of a 20 x 33 cm (8 x 13 in.) baking dish with 80 mL ( cup) of meat sauce. Reserve 125 mL (½ cup) of sauce.
  7. Layer lasagna noodles (3 to 4), half the sauce, a second layer of noodles, the cottage cheese, a third layer of noodles, and the remaining sauce. Finish with a final layer of noodles.
  8. Cover with reserved sauce. Top with remaining grated cheese blend and then sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
