Your choice of toppings:
Mini store-bought brownies cut into pieces, leftover cake pieces
Wafers, coconut, nuts, peanuts
Pop-Tarts broken into pieces
Coarsely chopped pretzels, caramel popcorn
Lightly crushed chips, crushed puff pastry
pint strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, cut into pieces
Apple and/or pear, cubed
Pineapple, papaya, or kiwi, cubed


Step 1
For the caramel:see the recipe for skewers
Step 2
Place brownie or cookies pieces at the bottom of cups to create a base.
Step 3
Add 1–2 scoops of ice cream. Decorate with your choice of toppings.


  • For a more decadent cup, dip the sides of the cups in homemade caramel, melted chocolate, or jam and then dip in toppings (candy, coarse sugar, chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, etc.) before adding ice cream.
  • Winning combinations:
    • Brownies, fresh cherries, cherry jam, chocolate chunks and whipped cream
    • Cookie pieces, bananas, caramel, chopped nuts, fresh strawberries and strawberry jam
    • Pretzels, bananas, blueberries, dark chocolate, caramel sauce and chopped nuts
    • Crushed puff pastry, fresh apples in small cubes, apple sauce, caramel and almonds
