Preparation

Step 1
Cut top off loaf and remove bread from inside, leaving 2 cm (1 in.) inside the crust.
Step 2
Fill inside of loaf with ingredients in this order: half the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, lettuce, half the cheese, and then the remaining ingredients, finishing with remaining cheese.
Step 3
Season with pepper before spreading with remaining mayonnaise and mustard. Replace top of loaf and hold it in place with toothpicks.
Step 4
Refrigerate at least 15 minutes before cutting it into pieces and serving.
